How to Pop Popcorn without Microwave Use?

You do not always require a microwave or a popcorn maker to cook your popcorn. Although preparing it in popcorn maker is far more easier than any other ways, the other methods also aren’t that difficult. Other than the previously mentioned methods, you can prepare popcorn in an air fryer or even with the following technique. Learning how to pop popcorn without using a microwave makes it easier for you to cook popcorn at any time – even when the microwave isn’t working.

The stovetop popped popcorn tastes really good and are super quick to prepare. Also, in this way, you can prepare your popcorn with the flavor you want it to be. So, this way, you can also feed popcorn to birds. You might also want to cook popcorn without using microwave because you have a small design of the microwave and in that your popcorn do not pop properly.

How to Cook Popcorn without using Microwave

There are different types of popcorn that you will find in the market and most of them cannot pop well in a small microwave. Also, when your microwave might go bad and you may want to eat popcorn, then you can try out popping your popcorn on the stove using the following method. If you have been using microwave to pop your popcorn then you will find the popcorn made on stove less chemically and more natural. Here is how you can cook your popcorn on the stove.

Step 1: Take a large bowl or pot (you can also use a small pressure cooker) that has a lid. You shouldn’t fill in all the popcorn, you must give popcorn the space to pop

Step 2: Add in a tablespoon of oil in the pot or the cooker and set it aside on a medium flame. If you are cooking in a pressure cooker, then keep the lid upside down so that the cooker is able to release the extra air out. Generally, vegetable oil is used while some use corn oil too

Step 3: Now open the microwave popcorn bag and add in a spoonful of popcorn kernels into the pot, also, add in a scoop of butter into it (you can also avoid using butter in it)

Step 4: Then put the lid on and let it pop inside the pot for a minute or two and the kernels will pop inside. Do not keep for longer than 2 to 3 minutes as it may get burnt. In these 2 to 3 minutes, you will here the corn popping inside. Once the popping stops, the popcorn is ready

If you want to add in some flavors, then you can add it in place of butter and you will get that taste and smell in your popcorn. You can prepare chocolate popcorn,         cheesy popcorn, bagel or Mexican popcorn or any other flavors to spice up your taste buds.
